      What’s the difference in meaning from a [(V) + O + V + 得 + adj.] structure and an [adj. + 地 + V + O] struture?

      Example:
      – 他说话说得很慢。

      – 他慢慢地说话。

      的 de

      the marker of noun modification,

      eg 老师的书 lǎo shī de  shū teacher’s book

      地 de

      the marker of pre-verbal modification of activity, verbs

      eg 慢慢地走 màn màn de zǒu  slowly walk

      得 de

      (1)the marker of post-verbal modification of activity verbs,

      eg 跳得高 tiào de gāo  jump highly

      (2)the marker of extent modification of sative adjectival verbs

      eg 他饿得走不动了。 Tā è de zǒu bú dòng le。

         He is too hungry to go.
