” Billi’s family returns to China under the guise of a fake wedding to stealthily say goodbye to their beloved matriarch — the only person that doesn’t know she only has a few weeks to live.

Initial release: July 19, 2019 (Canada)

      Director: Lulu Wang

      Budget: 3 million USD

      Languages: English, Japanese, Italian, Mandarin

Producers: Lulu Wang, Chris Weitz, Marc Turtletaub, Anita Gou, Peter Saraf, Daniele Tate Melia, Andrew Miano, Jane Zheng “

      Review by audience: “

“The Farewell is a strong family drama that is a much better showcase of the cultural clash of western and Asian cultures compared to the overhyped and generic Crazy Rich Asians. The Farewell handles things with subtlety never hammering home its multiple messages. It does not paint anyone as right or wrong and is happy just to share the knowledge of different ideals……”

Once Upon A Bite “风味人间” (Fēngwèi rénjiān)

Once Upon A Bite series is again made by renowned documentary director Chen Xiaoqing and his team. “Chen and his crew spent more than one and a half years researching 25 countries and regions around the world, filming over 300 kinds of delicious foods. They then divided those foods into eight separate themes, with each forming an episode that explores different cooking methods and flavours using similar raw ingredients around the world, such as chicken, crab, sugar, honey and sausages.”

“Whether you’re talking about farming, fishing, hunting or collecting, as well as drying, pickling, fermentation and other types of processing, they’re all closely related to the rules of nature. There are also those foods that are closely related to traditional festivals. Overall, filming basically needs to follow the schedule of the food,” The producer Zhang Ping explained.
