I don’t want to learn a lot of Mandarin but I’m researching for a future book possibility and need an English translation (and pronunciation) for a Mandarin name of “BLUE SWAN”. Later may need additional help with Chinese cultures/structures. Would like to establish a one-on-one contact with someone willing to offer intermediate help. Thanks in advance. Jim Bigger

The Chinese character in this name is a phonetic symbol. The meaning of the name in English is not always the same as in Mandarin.

Some Mandarin names have a literal meaning in English, but others do not. For example, “Zhang” means “tall” but it also means “to lean over onto something.”
